CWL Christmas Bazaar

The St. Patrick’s CWL is hosting a Christmas Bazaar on Sunday November 3rd, following Sunday Mass, until 1pm.  There is no entrance fee. 

The event will feature a Bake Table, Craft Table, Christmas table (only table top items-decor and ornaments), a Book Table, and a Children’s Table (with a craft to make and take).

Items for the bazaar tables will be collected on Saturday, November 2nd from 2 pm until just before Mass, and before Mass on Sunday.  Please come and support our bazaar.  

Bring family and friends.

November is CWL Membership month.  If you are interested in becoming a new member, or renewing your CWL membership, this can be done before and after each weekend Mass in November, in the narthex (back entrance of the church).  Cost of a membership is $35. You can also register at the CWL information table at our Christmas Bazaar on Sunday, November 3rd, after Mass.

Saturday, November 16th and Sunday, November 17th is CWL Weekend.  Members are encouraged to wear their scarves and pins to Mass to promote the CWL within our parish community. 

Our Mission

The Catholic Women’s League of Canada calls its members to grow in faith, and to witness to the love of God through ministry and service.

League Objects

The objectives of the League shall be to unite the Catholic women of Canada:

1. to achieve individual and collective spiritual development
2. to promote the teachings of the Catholic church
3. to exemplify the Christian ideal in home and family life
4. to protect the sanctity of life
5. to enhance the role of women in church and society
6. to recognize the human dignity of all people everywhere
7. to uphold and defend Christian education and values in the modern world
8. to contribute to the understanding and growth of religious freedom, social justice, peace and harmony

St. Patrick’s CWL is one of over 1100 Parish councils with 63,000 members strong throughout Canada.  Our Council is part of a network of diocesan, provincial and national councils. We invite all women parishioners over the age of 16 to join in a sisterhood of faith that promotes and responds to political and social issues that affect all Canadians.

Our St Patrick’s CWL holds monthly meetings from September to June, followed by a social time.  We have an Advent Social in December and June Social where members who are eligible are given CWL pins recognizing their milestone years of service to the League. New members are welcomed and given a CWL pin.

As a non-profit organization we are obliged to hold (at all levels) an Annual Meeting to conduct the business of the League. The Sault Ste Marie Diocesan Convention rotates between Sudbury, North Bay and Sault Ste. Marie once every three years. CWL members are invited to attend.
